Is unity still possible in the Christian church?
The answer is yes.

Paul’s letter to the Romans lays the foundation for unity between Jews and Gentiles. This unity is based on two solid pillars: our sinfulness and inability to make ourselves righteous under the law, and the free gift of righteousness that we have in Christ.

Paul’s presentation of these principles produces the great leveling that leads to unity. All are equally condemned under the law, including circumcised Jews, and all are equally saved by grace, including uncircumcised Gentiles. The ancient wall of enmity between Jew and Gentile created by the law has been torn down in Christ on the cross.

The Visionary Church reenvisions Romans by showing how its doctrines reflect Paul’s desire for unity. It also demonstrates how those doctrines can be used to pursue unity in our own time, in spite of our doctrinal differences.
